Carmelite Cloistered Community Builds New Classical Monastery

Our Carmelite community in Pennsylvania is not only thriving, we’re planning for generations of cloistered religious sisters in the future. Plans are underway for the construction of a permanent monastery in rural Pennsylvania, centered around a hidden life of prayer and sacrifice for the salvation of souls and the sanctification of priests. Join us in building this haven of silence and prayer.

about us

Discover the spiritual journey of the Carmelite Nuns, rooted in deep prayer and contemplation. Founded on the teachings of St. Teresa of Jesus and inspired by the ancient hermits of Mount Carmel, our community lives a life of prayer and sacrifice, dedicated to the glory of God and the service of the Church. Explore our history, our daily lives of joyous sacrifice, and our commitment to the salvific mission of Christ.

Our vision

“Carmel is all Mary’s” In imitation of the life lived by the holy hermits on Mt. Carmel our life resembles that which the Mother of God lived on earth. Each Carmel is a little “dovecote of the Virgin” in which the life of Nazareth ought to be renewed. We  meditate on the mystery of Mary, whose heart is in intimate union with Christ in order to become a fountain of life for the Church.

Our mission

Our mission is a heartfelt commitment to live in complete consecration to God, embracing the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Through our lives of prayer and penance, we support the Church and her pastors, interceding for the salvation of souls and the extension of God’s Kingdom on earth. Inspired by the teachings of our holy parents St. Teresa of Jesus and St. John of the Cross, the Carmelite strives to be ardently united to Jesus Christ, that from such union a hidden apostolic fruitfulness may be brought forth which is the fruit of a life consecrated to God in Carmel.
